RUN THE RUNWAY 2019

In 2019, the streets of Surabaya, Indonesia, held a young boy named Dimas. At just 2 years old, he had run away from home after losing both parents, wandering alone through crowded markets and dark alleyways. Hungry, scared, and with nowhere to turn, Dimas was at the mercy of the streets, his dreams of school and a safe home slipping further away with each passing day. That’s when Resourceful Charity Organization stepped in. Volunteers spotted Dimas while distributing meals to children in vulnerable neighborhoods. They approached him gently, offering food, clothing, and a safe place to stay. Slowly, through care and patience, Dimas opened up about his struggles, his fear, and his longing to go back to school. With the help of local partners, Resourceful Charity provided temporary shelter, medical care, and educational support. Dimas was enrolled in a nearby school, given learning materials, and mentored by volunteers who became his surrogate family. Within months, the frightened runaway boy had transformed into a hopeful student, laughing and playing alongside children his age—his life forever changed by compassion in action. Today, Dimas dreams of becoming a teacher, inspired by the people who believed in him when the world seemed to have turned its back.
